Updates

While the competitive season is over, marching band hasn't finished up quite yet! Please see below for important updates about the NYC/PHILA trip.


NYC/PHILA Updates

  • We will hold a mandatory meeting for anyone attending the NYC/PHILA trip on Tuesday, 11/14 at 7p in the band room. Chaperones will meet after the meeting to cover any additional details.

  • Forms are due Monday, 11/6. You can see what forms you still owe on this link. I will update this document as I receive more forms.

  • The finalized Itinerary has been added to the trip tab. Please carefully review the times.

  • We will hold two percussion sectionals to prepare for the parade performance on Thursday, November 9th from 3:30-5:00 and Thursday, November 16th from 3:30-5:00.

Marching Band Banquet

  • RSVPs are due today, 11/2. If you were unable to get your form to school today, please send Mr. Doherty and email with the number of people attending the banquet. You will need to pay for guests when you arrive at the banquet.

  • If you have additional pictures you would like to see in the slideshow, please email them to Mr. Doherty ASAP.

Band Placement Auditions

  • Band placement auditions are on Monday, November 6th from 3-6. Music education majors from Capital University will join us to adjudicate our auditions. Students signed up for time slots in class this week.

Marching Band Banquet — 11/8, 7p Dublin Scioto Commons

  • To ensure that we have enough food, RSVPs are required for everyone (students and family members) attending this event. RSVPs are due Thursday, November 2nd. Due to the policies of our catering company, we cannot accept late RSVPs.

  • This is a ticketed event. Tickets are $15 for friends and family, and free for band members. Checks should be made out to Dublin Music Boosters.

Band Placement Auditions — 11/6, 3-6p

  • You can sign up for your time slot this week during class.

  • Materials are on the public drive folder in the members section.

NYC/PHILA Forms Due Date Extended — 11/6

  • We have extended the deadline for NYC/PHILA forms. All forms must be submitted by 11/6.

  • If your medical information and emergency contacts have not changed, you do not need to resubmit the medical form.

  • Activities have been added to the "Partially Unsupervised Trip" form. Your child will be supervised the entire trip. There will be very few times when they are not with a chaperone that this form covers. Even though "unsupervised" the time is extremely limited (rest stops, restaurants as a group, seats in the theater, at night in the hotel room, etc.) you still need to complete this form

It's the final Tuesday Sheet of the year!


Congratulations to the band on another SUPERIOR performance this weekend! The band earned straight Superior Ratings again and placed 3rd overall with a score of 87.94, our highest of the season! Congrats to every member of the band for their hard work in making this year a success. Our final performance of the 2023 season is this Saturday at OMEA State Marching Band Finals!


NYC/PHILA Paperwork

  • Your trip paperwork is due by 10/31. Please visit the trip tab to complete all forms. There is a form checklist and a separate link to the folder with the forms.

  • 12:30 — Practice STARTS at 12:30, be ready to go at that time

  • 2:45 — ECL

  • 4:00 — Depart for Hilliard Bradley

  • 4:40 — Arrive at Hilliard Bradley

  • 5:40 — Warm Up

  • 6:45 — HAVE A SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE

  • 7:00 — Awards

  • 7:45 — Depart for Dublin Scioto

  • 8:25 — Arrive at Dublin Scioto

  • Food

    • Dublin Music Boosters will provide a meal before the performance again! We are breakfast for dinner including: French toast casserole, scrambled eggs, sausage links, hash browns, and fruit!

    • We will not have an opportunity to eat at SMBF.

  • Tickets & Parking

    • Adults: $10

    • Seniors: $7

    • School-age Children: $7

    • Children Under 5: free

    • Parking — $5 per car CASH ONLY!

  • Streaming

    • $20 gets you access to all FOUR days of SMBF

    • This is a LIVE broadcast, tune in to watch your band as they perform

    • Performances are archived for on-demand viewing, but it may take a week or more
