8/19 Tuesday Sheet

Hello band families and welcome to the first Tuesday Sheet of the 2025 season! The Tuesday Sheet contains all the information you need to know for this week in band.

School Rehearsal Schedule

Our weekly is below, and posted on our calendar at www.dublinsciotoband.org/calendar.

• Monday — Guard Sectional

  • 5:00-7:00

• Tuesday — Full Ensemble

  • 3:00-6:00

• Wednesday — Wind and Percussion Sectionals

  • 3:00-5:00 — Winds

  • 4:00-6:00 — Percussion

• Thursday — Full Ensemble

  • 3:00-6:00

Friendly reminder that all after school rehearsals are mandatory. Please refrain from scheduling doctors appointments, birthday dinners, concerts, etc. during these rehearsal times. Absences, no matter the reason, have a negative impact on the achievement and environment of the entire group.  Marching Band is a co-curricular class, and attendance is a portion of the grade for the class. An Absence is anytime a student is not physically present at a scheduled rehearsal time. This includes a student not being present for a portion of rehearsal (tardy, leaving early, or sitting out) as well as not being present for an entire rehearsal.

Absence Policy

• The only excusable absences for rehearsals are:

  • Pre arranged* school conflicts and illness with a doctor's note, death in the family, or religious holiday.

  • Absences will be excused at the discretion of the directors. A parent note does not automatically excuse the student.

  • Circumstances may justify an excused absence for reasons other than listed above. In the case of illness or family emergency, please contact Ms. Aubihl (aubihl_megan@dublinschools.net) prior to the event.

  • The final decision regarding excused vs. unexcused absences are at the sole discretion of the directors.

    *A school conflict may be a club or sport. This system is subject to modification and interpretation by the director

• Absence Make-Up

  • Absences are to be made up. A make up rehearsal or sectional will consist of supervised practice time before/after school/rehearsal. Performances are not eligible for a make up.

• Consequences

  • Any unexcused absence will result in your removal from that weeks performance.

  • Multiple absences (excused or unexcused) will result in your removal from that weeks performance.

  • Excessive absences (excused or unexcused) will result in the loss of your position in the field or expulsion from the ensemble.

  • The final decision regarding consequences due to absences is at the sole discretion of the directors.

Football @ Reynoldsburg HS

Itinerary

• 4:00 — Report to Scioto in summer uniform

• 4:15 — Load

• 5:30 — Depart for Reynoldsburg HS

• 6:15 — Arrive at Reynoldsburg HS

• 7:00 — Kick-off

• 9:30 — Anticipated end time

• 10:30 — Anticipated arrival time at Scioto

Information

• We will wear summer uniforms for this week's game. This means your marching band shoes, grey shorts and green polo. Wear shorter black socks. It's ok to see your socks, they just should go to your calf.

  • You may wear sunglasses in the stands and as we march into/out of the stadium, but not on the field during performance.

  • Personal items should be left on the bus or at the school. You may bring your phone into the stadium, but it should be away during the game.

  • Bring your water jug with you to all games.

• At every football game, the students will have 3rd quarter off. Students can say hi to family, get food from the concessions, and meet the other band. However, visitors are not allowed at the band stands at any point in the game. Students must be in their seats with one minute remaining in 3rd quarter. Failure to be in your seat by the time we start to play will result in the loss of your 3rd quarter privileges the following week.

• Drive groups of 4 students to various neighborhoods while they go door-to-door collecting donations during our annual Fund Drive night on Sept. 10th: Sign Up
